LAS VEGAS—Total Eye Care Partners (Total ECP), the new formed group, backed by Imperial Capital in a deal announced here by VMail earlier this week, will offer a range of business and consulting services to offices that become part of the group.

That business management services team, formerly known as the GPN Coaching and Dispensing Management Program (DMP), was acquired by Total ECP and is now part of a growing infrastructure of support services at Total ECP, overseen by Jay Binkowitz, executive vice president, business strategy for the group.

“Existing GPN Coaching and DMP clients will enjoy uninterrupted service by Total ECP, led by Jay and the current success coaching team, a part of the Total ECP organization,” Bob Barton, president and CEO of Total ECP told VMail.

GPN Technologies, now headed by CEO Ed Buffington and COO Evan Kestenbaum, will continue as an independent company, remaining separate from Total ECP. The industry-leading EDGEPro by GPN will be the core of new products and technologies currently under development by GPN Technologies as well as those to be acquired in the near future, executives emphasized.

“Total ECP plans to grow throughout the U.S., partnering with targeted medically-focused independent eyecare professionals and regional groups,” explained Barton. “Total ECP will provide ODs with the unique opportunity to participate in the growth of the business while retaining clinic management and ownership, but without many of the day-to-day challenges faced by small businesses.”

With a significant number of signed letters of intent with key optometric opinion leaders, the company said it expects to soon be making additional announcements regarding its plans for rapid growth.
