Latest News Cohen’s Empowerment Through Sight Initiatives Now Underway By Staff Wednesday, June 7, 2017 12:18 AM NEW YORK—As it continues its 90th anniversary celebration this year, Cohen’s Fashion Optical is continuing its community outreach with its Empowerment Through Sight initiatives, in which the retail group is giving back to several vision-related organizations through customer purchases.In 2017, Cohen’s is encouraging customers to participate in vision for the greater good via several recent partnerships which are now underway. Among these is Restoring Vision, a non-profit which provides glasses to people in need around the world, supporting disadvantaged communities in 124 countries. Restoring Vision and Cohen’s recently completed a mission to Guatemala to help people there. Through a partnership with Americares, Restoring Vision and Cohen’s are providing clear vision to New Yorkers living at or under the poverty level. Cohen’s is also partnering with iHeartRadio, with gifts and glasses for children through the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.In addition, the Mount Sinai Hospital Adolescent Health Center’s Ophthalmic Suite, established in 1968, is the first primary care program in New York specifically created for the health needs of teens. Complete with an in-house Cohen’s Fashion Optical store, teens can now receive eyecare and eyewear as part of their overall health care. A video explaining the Mt.
