ESSEX, U.K.—Biocompatible materials provider and contact lens company Contamac Ltd announced that founder John McGregor would become the company’s chairman and that his son, Robert McGregor, has been appointed as managing director. John McGregor founded Contamac Ltd in 1982 and since then, has led the company through the development of many products, facility expansions and awards, including the 2012 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade section. He plans to dedicate more time to his leisure activities and the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers while playing an active role in Contamac Ltd, the company said.Robert McGregor joined the company in 1994 and has worked in every department within the company. He has also led sales, marketing, research and development, and business development activities. “It is a real privilege and honor to take over the role of managing director from my father.
