NEW YORK—One of the most in-demand speakers and thinkers about the current domestic and international retail business climate, Deborah Weinswig, an award-winning global retail analyst and a specialist in retail innovation and technology, will be the opening speaker at Vision Monday’s upcoming Global Leadership Summit here on March 20, 2019. Weinswig is the founder and CEO of Coresight Research, a strategic advisory and mentorship network that enlightens retailer, brand and technology clients on disruptive technologies reshaping today’s global retail landscape. At the VM Summit, Weinswig will talk about how new prescriptive tech tools are helping retailers large and small build sales and, importantly, build relationships and experiences with consumers. She’ll share exclusive research and examples of what these trends and tools can mean to optical retailers and eyecare professionals. Weinswig will also lead a panel of leading tech solution experts at the VM Summit.

Early-bird registration is now open for the day-long exclusive live event, to be held Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Times Center here, just prior to Vision Expo East that week.

“Decoding the Consumer, The New Science of Customer Behavior”
is the program theme for the 13th Annual VM Global Leadership Summit. The day-long program will bring together retail analysts, health care experts, data scientists and marketing innovators who will detail trends and tactics that are shaping businesses decision making. They will explain how to connect with customers and patients on their terms, and how to deliver the in-store and online experiences they want.

“The consumer and the patient are now at the center of leading retail, e-comm and healthcare organizations’ thinking,” said Marge Axelrad, SVP and editorial director of Vision Monday. “Today’s consumers want it all: unlimited choice, unsurpassed convenience, personalized service and undeniable value. They demand it from the brands they identify with, and from the stores and sites they love and the health care providers they trust. But the rules of engagement have changed, and business leaders need to unlock the data behind this fundamental shift among consumers and patients. The VM Summit will help identify the tools, trends and solutions to do this.”

The Vision Monday Leadership Summit is of the industry’s most influential and unique programs and signature networking events. For 12 years, Vision Monday Global Leadership Summit has attracted senior industry executives, optical retailers, leading eyecare professionals, suppliers and key opinion leaders from the worldwide optical industry. It has become the place for face-to-face networking, a dynamic exchange of ideas and thought-provoking discussion.

Companies that use data to better understand consumer groups and shopping behavior will share their perspectives. In health care, knowledgeable observers will talk about the patient experience and decision making in a new era of health care delivery. The Summit will also feature a session on blockchain, a powerful new system of managing and distributing data that could potentially reshape transactions between consumers and suppliers. Experts will demystify this rapidly emerging technology and explain how it’s changing the way data is harvested and managed, and what it means for digital business and vision care.
