DALLAS—The Energeyes Association for Corporate Affiliated Optometrists announced that Joseph Barr, OD, is the 2016 recipient of the Energeyes President’s Council Award.

“We thought the selection process would get easier with each passing year, but it has gotten harder,” stated Mark Uhler, immediate past president and chair of the President’s Council Award Committee. “When you have names like Dr. Larry Alexander and Dr. Ernie Bowling, it challenges you to reach above that caliber of individual and that is a very small group. Our selection of Dr. Joseph Barr, however, satisfies our desire to continue to move the benchmark higher and higher.”

Dr. Barr most recently led the Dry Eye initiative within Energeyes creating a protocol, training and account management that is assisting practices to be successful in the launch of Dry Eye services in communities across the U.S.

“I am certainly honored to be placed in a category with two men I consider to be great men. Great optometrists and great friends,” said Dr. Barr. “It really has been a pleasure getting to know an organization that places a true emphasis and commitment to quality of care first and foremost.”
