Charenton-le-Pont, France—The board of directors of Essilor International has announced two changes to its composition, according to an announcement from the company. Henrietta Fore has announced her resignation from the Essilor board of directors after being appointed executive director of UNICEF on Jan. 1, 2018. “The members of the board of directors congratulated Mrs. Fore on her new appointment and thanked her warmly for her very important contribution to the board’s work over the past two years,” the company said.

Yi He, the director representing the employee shareholders through the Valoptec Association, has also announced that he will resign from the Essilor board of directors following the end of his term as a board director of the Valoptec Association.
Given that the combination with Luxottica is under way, the Essilor board of directors did not feel this was an appropriate time to appoint two new members to succeed them, the announcement said.

As Henrietta Fore had been nominated to the board of directors of the future EssilorLuxottica, a new female director will be nominated in the near future and that appointment will be submitted for approval to Essilor’s next General Shareholders’ Meeting.
