ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has updated its Import Alert 86-07 by removing the Chinese company, Wenzhou Summer International, according to an announcement from The Vision Council.

The FDA’s “Red List” is made up of foreign manufacturers whose FDA regulated products, relating to the imports of impact-resistance lenses in eyeglasses and sunglasses, have failed the impact-resistance test (drop ball test). These products are to be detained by the FDA without physical examination if those products are introduced into the commerce of the U.S. The goods purchased from any of the companies on the Red List, will most likely have to be exported or destroyed.
