TROY, Mich.—Morton Feldman, I-deal Optics founder and optical industry veteran passed away on Nov. 29, 2018, at the age of 81. Feldman and his son Michael, established I-deal Optics in 1996 and built a reputation as a trusted vendor that delivers high level products and service to customers worldwide. Noted a statement from the family, Feldman’s business philosophy was the value of working as a team and that titles weren’t important.“ On any given day you could just as easily find him helping in the warehouse as you could closing key deals in his office. Over the years, ‘Mort’ developed many of the brands the company still offers today and was a significant influence in the direction and values of the company, even after retiring in 2009.”

His accomplishments and legacy were achieved not only from his business acumen and drive for success but from his love of family and dedication to his associates, the company noted, adding that Feldman’s “hard work and enthusiasm is evident in the many ideal employees who remain passionate and committed to his vision.”

Services for Feldman were held at Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield Michigan on Sunday, Dec. 2. The Feldman family suggested that those who wish to, “further honor the memory of Morton Lloyd Feldman may do so by making a contribution to a charity of one's choice.”
