NEW YORK—Frank Rescigna has been named the new president of Teka Eyewear, an independent eyewear and sunwear distributor. Rescigna brings 30 years of experience in the optical industry to this role, including positions as president of Viva International, president of Marcolin Eyewear, vice president of sales for Charmant and most recently as senior vice president of sales at Wiley X. Rescigna also owned and operated R Family Eyewear, a retail optical boutique. Additionally, he worked outside of optical as president of global licensing for Guess Inc.

“We have 10 great years behind us and amazing potential for future growth and expansion ahead of us,” Tom Kramer, owner and chief executive officer of Teka Eyewear, said in an announcement. “Having a person with Frank’s experience, industry understanding and reputation in this role is key to taking our company to the next level,”

He continued, “Previously owning and managing a retail optical boutique gives him a unique perspective of the independent ECP’s challenges and needs. We are excited to bring him on board and for the key role he will have with our company moving forward.”

Rescigna said he is “proud and excited” to take on the new role with Teka Eyewear. “Teka Eyewear has been a hidden gem in our industry, from outstanding eyewear design and quality, to exceptional customer service. Teka Eyewear is the epitome of what an independent eyewear distributor should be. The company has a passion and mission to serve and cater to the independent ECP. My goal is to further develop this mission by building a team of sales consultants that share the same passion. This will serve as the catalyst to the company’s long term success and goal of becoming the independent for independents.”
