MILAN— Eager to increase its lifestyle appeal, Furla has extended its license with De Rigo Vision, ahead of its expiration date, for another five years until 2022, according to an announcement from De Rigo Vision.

Furla CEO Eraldo Poletto said, “Implementing our licensing strategy reflects Furla's incredibly positive moment and the company's desire to further strengthen its licensing portfolio. With its strong know-how in the eyewear sector, De Rigo Vision is the perfect partner for Furla, sharing with us the same values and attention for design, research and Made in Italy quality.”

Michele Aracri, managing director, De Rigo Vision said, “With a prestigious partner such as Furla, this enables us to further grow and develop a business that in 10 years has shown very
positive results. We have mutually decided to extend this profitable relationship to have the time to strategically invest in both the commercial and marketing fronts.”

Led by its top-performing markets such as the U.S, Japan and Italy, Furla's eyewear business has grown at a double-digit pace over the past three years. Overall, the eyewear collection is showing strong gains, registering a 30 percent sales increase worldwide in the year to date June 2015 period versus the previous year.

In line with Furla's new brand image and lifestyle strategies, the two companies are further leveraging their experience and know-how to push the envelope in terms of product research and experimentation. The result is a broader eyewear selection where inventive shapes, bold combinations and cutting-edge materials are increasingly gaining steam.

The Furla sunglasses are available in the company’s boutiques and in select optical stores while the prescription frames are only carried in the latter. Starting with the SS 2016 collection, Furla introduced a new eyewear style concept for men hinged on innovation and versatility that is exclusive to its boutique.

A worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing and distribution of high-level prescription frames and sunglasses, De Rigo Vision is active in all the major markets and product is distributed in approximately 80 countries, mainly in Europe, Asia and the Americas, through 13 companies and over 100 independent distributors.
