CALGARY—FYidoctors, an optometrist-owned eyecare company with locations across Canada, announced this week that Neff and Tessel Optometrists of Guelph, Ontario, has become part of the FYidoctors operating group. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but FYidoctors noted in its announcement that this transaction adds to its growing presence in southwestern Ontario and is part of the company’s largest growth year ever. “I continue to be humbled by the growth of our company in Ontario,” FYidoctors chairman and chief executive officer Dr. Alan Ulsifer said in the announcement.

“Drs. Neff and Tessel and their team bring our first practice to the city of Guelph. This year will be our biggest growth year in the history of our company and Ontario practices are a key reason for this growth.”

Drs. Neff and Tessel have been partners since August 1998 and their services include contact lens fittings, binocular vision training, sport, and safety eyewear, according to the announcement.

Dr. Tessel said becoming part of FYidoctors will allow the practice to deliver the very latest in eyecare technology, through support and training. “Over the years, we’ve enjoyed the community focus of our practice, supporting local sports teams and numerous events as an appreciation for the support,” he noted.

“We’re tremendously excited to take this next step in growing our practice by joining the FYidoctors family. We wanted to join a team that understood the importance of optometrist-led care and shared our values. FYidoctors has proven its commitment to investing in the latest technology and innovation to deliver the best patient care, and we look forward to further building our practice and continuing to serve our community with the FYidoctors team.”

FYidoctors, and its Visique division, has a network with more than 450 optometrists across more than 175 locations, according to the announcement.
