Bruce Bowser.

CALGARY—FYidoctors, one of Canada’s largest and fastest-growing eyecare companies, has appointed Bruce Bowser to its board of directors. Bowser is “a transformational leader with extensive experience in both private and public companies,” FYidoctors said in an announcement last week.

Bowser currently is president and chief executive officer of AMJ Campbell Van Lines and is known as “a visionary with a keen ability to build high-performance cultures and cultivate customer service excellence,” the announcement noted.

“I am excited to join the board of FYidoctors and am also excited about the company’s tremendous growth and opportunity in its marketplace,” Bowser said. “Founded by a group of committed, passionate Canadian optometrists, they understand the unique importance of exceptional and personalized patient experiences in building the FYidoctors brand. I have personally experienced the FYidoctors difference, and can attest to its commitment to excellence.”

Dr. Alan Ulsifer, president and chief executive of FYidoctors, said he believes that the addition of Bowser to the board will “help drive our growth and create stronger brand awareness across Canada.”

Bowser has served on several boards throughout his career, including the National Ballet School of Canada, Hope Air, the Credit Valley Hospital Foundation and the Canada Company (supporting the children and families of fallen Canadian soldiers), amongst others.

FYidoctors has more than 450 optometrists servicing 260-plus locations, including its corporately owned locations and Vision Source Canada locations.
