CALGARY, Alberta—FYidoctors has promoted Michael Naugle, OD to its management team. The company also announced a new VP of its Delta Ophthalmic Laboratory.

Naugle has been promoted to the role of VP of optometric partnerships. This promotion places Dr. Naugle in the primary role of growing the company in Canada and adding valuable members to the FYidoctors team, the company said.

Naugle was the managing partner of one of the largest optometric practices in Atlantic Canada before joining FYidoctors in 2008. As a past member of the FYidoctors board of directors, Naugle has served as vice chair, chairman of the governance and compensation committee, vice chairman of the advisory committee, and chair of the nominating committee of the advisory committee.

“We are thrilled to add Dr. Naugle to the management team. His passion for the business, deep understanding of operations, at both the practice level and FYidoctors home office, and unstoppable energy in doing the right thing, have gained him tremendous respect in the organization,” said Alan Ulsifer, OD, chair and CEO of FYidoctors. “As a doctor-led organization, it only makes sense to add a leader like Mike to the team.”

Naugle acquired his Bachelor of Science Degree with honors from the University of New Brunswick. He then attended the University of Waterloo where he received his doctorate of Optometry with honors in 1992. Since 1996, Naugle has served on the Council of New Brunswick Association of Optometrists, including two years as president from 2000-2002.

In addition, FYidoctors announced the appointment of Nancy Morison as vice president, Delta Ophthalmic Laboratory at the group’s Delta manufacturing and distribution facility.

Morison brings significant expertise in supply chain logistics, IT, and overall product management from many organizations including Loomis and i2 Technologies, the company’s announcement said, adding that she was instrumental in the growth of Coastal/Clearly over the period of 2003 to 2015 where she grew to the position of chief operating officer. Her most recent tenure was with SPUD.ca, an omni channel specialty grocer.

Ulsifer noted, “Nancy is the exact person we need right now as we continue our extensive growth and enter the e-commerce and omni-channel world. Her expertise in supply chain logistics, customer service, HR and culture, and procurement will be critical in our ongoing efforts to be the proven leader in the eyes of our consumers. This is an exciting time for our company and we are very proud that Nancy has chosen FYidoctors.”

"I'm very excited to join the FYidoctors team,” Morison said. “The organization is a great Canadian success story and their focus on the patient, customer service, coaching, culture and leadership match well with my personal beliefs and drivers on what delivers long term success. There are big things ahead for FYidoctors and I look forward to being a part of this amazing group delivering the next phases of growth and development.”

FYidoctors is one of the world’s largest doctor-owned provider of ophthalmic products and services, with over 525 optometrists servicing over 200 locations, a private, optometrist-owned and operated eyecare company.
