CALGARY, Alberta—FYidoctors/Visique, the optometrist-owned eyecare company based here, has added the Quebec practice Optique Le Cartier to its holdings and is moving to get “back on our growth path,” according to an announcement this week. “After a brief hiatus in the Quebec market [while] launching our Visique brand and building needed infrastructure, we are back on our growth path and are thrilled to welcome Optique Le Cartier to our growing organization,” FYIdoctors chairman and chief executive officer Dr. Alan Ulsifer said in the announcement this week.

“They have a stellar reputation for quality eyewear brands and amazing service and are well known in the greater Montreal area. We are proud to enhance their patient’s eyecare experience by revamping the examination area and adding the latest in diagnostic technology."

This addition expands Visique’s growing presence in Quebec, the announcement noted. Equipped with a range of diagnostic technology, a wide selection of designer and exclusive label frames and internal freeform lens designs, the new Montreal location demonstrates FYidoctors’ renewed commitment to the Quebec region, the announcement noted.

As VMAIL reported, FYidoctors rebranded its more than 45 locations in Quebec under the “Visique” banner as part of a repositioning initiative launched in mid-2017.

Optique le Cartier has been located in downtown Montreal since 1995. “Jacques and Patrick Zagury and their team represent a unique combination of the latest fashion eyewear, while at the same time offering quality vision care using the latest technology available on the market,” the announcement noted.

“Joining the amazing network of Visique/FYidoctors, and their capabilities of helping us reach our clients on a whole new level, was the main attraction to our joining the family,” Zagury said in the announcement. “While our focus has always been on providing our clients with the absolute best in eye and vision care, including contact lens fittings, progressive lenses and computer/smartphone lens technology, we pride ourselves in offering the very latest releases of Italian, French and American eyewear fashions, including Cartier, Chanel, Oliver Peoples, Tom Ford, Gold & Wood, Givenchy, Dior, Illesteva [and] Moscot, to name just a few.”

Ulsifer noted that the addition of Optique Le Cartier expand Visique’s brand in “what has been determined to be a key growth market. We look forward to this continued growth in Montreal and in the Quebec region as a whole.”

He added, “This addition significantly improves our brand awareness under both the Visique and FYidoctors brand and the opportunity to continue to utilize our marketing team to maximize the telling of our story of patient-focused care to more and more people.”

FYidoctors/Visique, a private, optometrist-owned-and-operated eyecare company, has more than 450 optometrists servicing over 185 locations.
