ROANAKE, Va.—Harry Edelson has been appointed chairman of the board of PogoTec, a Roanoke-based startup specializing in wearable technology, including eyewear. Edelson is the former managing partner of Edelson Technology Partners (ETP) where he was responsible for all of the company’s funds.

According to a statement released by PogoTec, Edelson has served on 150 boards; 12 as chairman. His career has been defined by limitless energy, outsized results and a unique background combining technology and Wall Street analyst experiences. The Edelson Technology Partner funds were the lead venture capital investor in 11 early stage companies that grew to have market capitalization of more than $1 billion and up to $100 billion. This was accomplished by Edelson’s instigation and support of numerous M & A transactions.

“I have been fortunate during my career to have invested in 11 Unicorns (young companies that achieved a valuation of $1B or more),” said Edelson. “I believe PogoTec has the ability to become my 12th. That is why I am so excited to assist PogoTec as its chairman. PogoTec has the potential to completely revolutionize the way consumers take digital images and videos, making it much more convenient and simple for the masses to capture the important moments in life."
