NORWALK, Conn.—International Vision Expo & Conference has named Cheri Guy director of Professional Relations, tasked with overseeing the development and growth of the event’s prestigious OPTImum Program. The invitation-only OPTImum program provides an elite show experience for over 1,700 of the eyecare community’s leading retail buyers, ophthalmic professionals, lab owners, directors and senior level decision makers.

In the newly created position of director of Professional Relations, Guy will be responsible for increasing attendance at Vision Expo East and Vision Expo West among specific groups that qualify for the program. Guy brings more than 30 years of experience within the eyecare industry, most recently serving as Professional Development Manager for Transitions Optical. She holds an AAS in opticianry and spent 20 years as a licensed Optician in the Florida retail market.

“Cheri’s robust background as an optician and her experience in the optical industry allows her to approach this growth initiative with a deep understanding of the full scope of medical practice, particularly as it pertains to professional collaboration in addressing customer needs,” said Tom Loughran, group vice president for Reed Exhibitions.

Under Guy’s leadership, the OPTImum program will focus heavily on enabling long-term relationships and solutions for eyecare professionals through strategic, value-driven education and purchasing opportunities, while enhancing awareness and understanding of the benefits in attending International Vision Expo & Conference events.
