MELVILLE, N.Y.— Marchon Eyewear, Inc. and MCM (Modern Creation München), a global manufacturer of luxury leather goods, have announced an exclusive multi-year global licensing agreement for the manufacture and distribution of sun and ophthalmic collections under the MCM brand.

“This is an exciting partnership that perfectly fits with Marchon’s strategy to extend the range of young and dynamic luxury brands in our global portfolio, leveraging our Italy manufacturing, talent and logistics,” said Claudio Gottardi, Marchon Eyewear president and CEO. “Considering the well-rooted presence and appeal of MCM in Asia, and other major metropolitan global markets, we look forward to further increasing our presence in one of the fastest-growing areas for fashion essentials.”

The first collections will launch in March 2015 with a “Made in Italy” sunwear capsule collection, available exclusively across the MCM worldwide boutique network. The MCM eyewear collection will launch September 2015 in Asia, with a global roll-out planned for January 2016. The eyewear collection will be sold in MCM boutiques, department and specialty stores, and select optical stores worldwide.

MCM was founded during the 1970s in Munich, Germany. The brand celebrates the global nomad and the revolutionized travel that occurred during the turn of the century. The brand’s product categories include handbags, luggage, business bags, backpacks and small leather goods. MCM has boutiques in major cities throughout the world including Munich, Berlin, Zurich, London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo. The brand is also distributed in key markets including the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, U.A.E., Italy and Russia.
