Mido Gears Up for 2019 Show, Nominations Open for BESTORE Awards

MILAN—The upcoming Mido trade show opens Feb. 23 to 25, 2019 in Milan. This year’s show just like the past year will feature a range of companies from the biggest players to young start-ups, SMEs and leaders in lenses and machinery as well as the Asian manufacturers’ group stands. Additionally, nominations for the show’s BESTORE awards have now opened on its website. The BESTORE is an international contest for the best optical stores across the globe. BESTORE 2019 will focus on two fundamental aspects: design and innovation. Click here to make a nomination. Winners will be announced and awarded during Mido 2019.

According to the company, “Mido’s strength lies in its robust identity as the B2B event for closing business deals and as a point of confluence where eyewear professionals can take stock of the latest market trends, share experiences and imagine the future.”

Additionally, during the show the results of the third edition of the Mido Outlook and the 9th wave of the Optical Monitor survey (developed in partnership with GFK and Silmo) will provide insights on the current state of Russian, Chinese, Japanese and U.S. markets and will be presented during the show. Also scheduled for the show are the traditional meetings, seminars and presentations hosted at the Otticlub conference center in pavilion 3.

“In addition to organizing the best possible business fair, which is the primary objective of our show,” said Giovanni Vitaloni, president of Mido, “we have paired our sales-oriented spirit with the concept of deepening insights into the industry, analyzing its performance and markets, in order to offer eyewear professionals the tools they need to interpret the present and be proactive about the future. The fair will facilitate opportunities for sharing ideas on topics of interest to our industry, from product innovations to professional and educational topics, to vision health, which we feel is strategic and crucial for all those working in our world.”
