Latest News Moscot Opens London Store By Staff Monday, December 21, 2015 12:21 AM LONDON—Moscot, the five-generation New York-based global eyewear brand, opened its first U.K. store at 37 Beak Street in the heart of London’s West End on Dec. 11. Founded by Hyman Moscot in 1899, when he began selling ready-made spectacles from a pushcart on Orchard Street in NYC’s Lower East Side, Moscot brings more than 100 years of optical expertise and its timeless eyewear to its first ever standalone shop in Europe. “The opening of Moscot London, our sixth shop worldwide, and our third oversees is an exciting milestone for us,” said Harvey Moscot, Moscot’s co-president and fourth generation Moscot. “Carnaby Soho is recognized worldwide for its history in style, and the neighborhood is genuinely a strong fit for Moscot.” Fans of the brand can expect to shop Moscot’s full breadth of classic styles mixed among the brand’s signature aesthetic of quirky and eclectic treasures its New York City shops are known for, the company said. Moscot London’s lower-level will showcase vintage eyewear from the family’s archives, and feature an interactive touchscreen experience for fans to instantly connect with Moscot Music and other content. The area will also feature a designated tea service station as a nod to its “home away from home.” Moscot London will be open Monday thru Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11a.m. to 6 p.m., and will stock the company’s three collections—Moscot Originals, Moscot Spirit and Moscot Sun—in addition to retired styles and Moscot Living products. With three shops in NYC, Moscot entered the Japanese market earlier this year with its Tokyo offering and two years ago open in Seoul, South Korea.
