PALM SPRINGS, Fla.—With franchise deals underway in Atlanta and Florida, My Eyelab earlier this week announced that it has identified California as a primary target of its franchise expansion initiative. Immediate single and multi-unit territories are available “as the brand seeks qualified and enthusiastic investors in this untapped market,” the My Eyelab announcement noted.

The optical retailer said it has “plans to grow in major cities throughout the state,” according to this week’s announcement. No further details were available.

As VMail reported, My Eyelab announced in June that it was launching a “strategic franchise program” that, at the time, emphasized single- and multi-unit franchise opportunities in Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Texas. Subsequently, My Eyelab, a division of Vision Precision Holdings, announced franchising deals in Florida and Atlanta, as VMail reported.

“After an outstanding first year of franchising, in which we exceeded all of our goals, we're ready to ramp up our efforts in 2018,” My Eyelab co-founder and chief executive officer Daniel Stanton said in the announcement. “There’s no better market to capitalize on than California. Our goal is to make My Eyelab the go-to eyecare destination across the nation, and California, as well as the other priority markets we'll announce in 2018, gets us one step closer to that goal.”

The company noted that it has closed more than 40 franchise sales and “sold out the Atlanta and Florida markets in its first year of franchising.”

Under the Vision Precision Holdings’ operations umbrella (which includes Stanton Optical), the parent company offers eyecare services in 84 locations across 22 states, the announcement noted.
