DULUTH, Ga.—National Vision Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: EYE), one of the nation’s largest optical retailers, announced it has expanded its eyeglass production capacity with the opening of its fourth domestic optical lab located in Plano, Texas. This new manufacturing facility joins an already sophisticated lab network consisting of three domestic locations—St. Cloud, Minn.; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Lawrenceville, Ga. The company also noted that it partners with two outsourced, third-party owned international locations in China and Mexico to service consumers’ optical needs.

“This is an exciting day for all of us at National Vision,” said Bob McKinzie, senior vice president of manufacturing and supply chain for National Vision. “As with all areas of our business, our approach to lab and manufacturing services is focused on providing our stores with the highest quality and service at the lowest possible cost. Our new Texas facility allows us to better support all of our brands in meeting the ever-expanding optical needs of our customers, both today and into the future.”

The new lab has the largest square footage of any lab in the National Vision network, and when it eventually reaches full capacity, it is expected to be one of the highest volume optical labs in North America.

National Vision operates over 1,000 stores in 44 states plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. With a mission of helping people by making quality eyecare and eyewear more affordable and accessible, the company operates five retail brands: America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, Eyeglass World, Vision Centers inside select Walmart stores, and Vista Opticals inside Fred Meyer stores and on select military bases, offering a variety of products and services for customers’ eyecare needs.
