DULUTH, Ga.—National Vision Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: EYE) announced this week that its charitable foundation, 20/20 Quest, has awarded $250,000 grants to both the Clear Vision Collective and to Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Clear Vision Collective is a collaborative effort of multiple organizations (National Vision, VisionSpring, RestoringVision, the Eyelliance, Brien Holden Institute, Essilor, One Sight and Clearly, among others) working together on a systematic approach to develop vision care in Bangladesh and to make it possible for everyone in Bangladesh who needs eyewear and eyecare to obtain them, according to the announcement.

With National Vision’s support, Clear Vision Collective will develop an optical ecosystem that can deliver “market-based solutions to the low-income population at large. This grant will be allocated toward building national level resource efforts to increase the accessibility of affordable eyewear and eyecare through work and school-based screenings, vision centers, improved hospital capacity and increased vision product supply,” according to the announcement.

Bob Stein, chief philanthropic officer of National Vision, said the company is “incredibly proud to partner with Clear Vision Collective.”

Separately, National Vision and Boys & Girls Clubs of America have been partners since 2016 and have provided more than 5,400 kids and teens access to free vision screenings, comprehensive eye exams and glasses, according to the announcement.

National Vision is one of the largest optical retail companies in the U.S., with more than 1,000 stores in 44 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
