MONTREAL—New Look Vision Group Inc. (TSX: BCI) announced Monday afternoon that Mario Pageau, ood, a senior vice president of Optician Networks and president of New Look Eyewear, died suddenly on Saturday, April 20. Pageau also was a dispensing optician, a professional designation in Canada. No other details were available on Monday. Antoine Amiel, president and chief executive officer of New Look Vision, said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my friend and colleague Mario Pageau. Mario had served as our senior vice president Optician Networks and New Look Eyewear president since October 2017, and for 17 years before that in various key positions throughout New Look Vision. His passion, dedication, humanity and humor will live on in our memories and inspire our actions. On behalf of all at New Look Vision, I offer our deepest condolences to his loved ones.”

Pageau is survived by his wife, Andrea Benavente; his sons, Felix, Rafael and Matias; his daughters, Emilie and Rebeca, and his parents, George and Nicole.

Marie-Josée Mercier, vice president sales and customer experience for New Look Eyewear since 2010, has been appointed general manager of New Look Eyewear with immediate effect, the company’s announcement noted. Mercier is a distinguished retail professional with more than 30 years of experience, including 14 years with the New Look Vision Group.
