Datta Nadkarni

NEWARK, Calif.—EyeQue, which makes devices that enable consumers to test their own vision and then order eyeglasses online, has appointed Datta Nadkarni as its first chief marketing officer (CMO). Nadkarni will oversee global marketing, focused on driving consumer and practitioner adoption as the company expands beyond the U.S. into international markets. He joins after successful tenures at leading global companies including LensCrafters, Vision Express, Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Philips Electronics, and Farmers Insurance. “At EyeQue, we’re redefining eyecare by putting vision screeners directly into consumers’ hands,” said John Serri, co-founder and CTO of EyeQue.

“Datta brings a wealth of marketing and business development experience and was instrumental in what could be considered the first consumer revolution in eyecare—the introduction of premium quality one-hour eyeglasses in the U.S. and several international markets. We’re thrilled to bring Datta onboard to help EyeQue usher in the next era in eyecare—at-home vision testing.”

Nadkarni brings more than 25 years of marketing, sales, and business development experience with extensive work on global consumer product and service initiatives. He will focus on EyeQue’s global marketing strategy and developing partnerships with eye doctors and the vision care community.

EyeQue recently raised $11.2 million in a Series B round from existing investors, VMail reported. The Series B investment brought the total equity EyeQue has raised to date to $16.2 million.
