LAS VEGAS—The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) will host its next Professional Optical Woman’s Workshop titled, “Mindfulness in the Workplace,” during International Vision Expo West on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Marco Polo Room 801 (Level 1) of The Venetian/Palazzo Congress Center.

The workshop is presented by a Master Educator from the world-renowned Chopra Center for Wellbeing, and is designed exclusively for the optical industry.

“This workshop should be of real value to all of our members who are seeking to renew their mind and body, ignite their creativity, and unleash their potential for success,” said Christie Walker, OWA board member and event coordinator. “Attendees will take away helpful practices to implement in the office and at home. This will be a very interactive workshop that includes a variety of tools for work-life balance, a series of de-stress techniques, and insights into purposeful communication and inspired leadership.”

The event is open to OWA members and non-members. The workshop will be free to OWA members who register in advance. Non-members can register for $35. The workshop includes light hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic drinks. To register, visit the home page at www.opticalwomen.com and click on the feature button.

In addition to the workshop, members and friends of the OWA are invited to attend the annual networking and raffle event, to be held on Friday, Oct. 4, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Galileo Room 905 (Level 1) of the Venetian/Palazzo Congress Center. Luxury designer accessories and premier items provided by sponsors of the OWA will be raffled to raise funds for continued education and development of the OWA membership. A photo booth will be available for guests to create their own take-home memories of time enjoyed with colleagues and friends.

Admission to the networking event is free, but advanced registration is required. Go to www.opticalwomen.com to register.
