DALLAS—The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) will host a Champagne Breakfast, featuring Holly Rush, the president of Luxottica Wholesale North America, on March 19, from 7:30 am to 9:00 am at the New York Marriott Marquis, Times Square. The interview will be facilitated by Washington Post Live editor Lois Romano.

Presented in a talk show format, the interview will touch on various themes, including authentic leadership, women in leadership roles and the importance of women-to-women mentoring.

As president of Luxottica Wholesale North America, Rush oversees all aspects of the distribution network in the company’s largest eyewear market and represents some of the most recognizable brands in luxury, fashion and lifestyle, such as Ray-Ban, Michael Kors and Chanel. With more than 20 years of experience in the consumer products industry under her belt, Rush is a strong advocate for creating the right conditions within organizations and teams that foster the next generation for leaders, especially women, said the OWA.

Romano is the new editor of Washington Post Live, the media organization’s live journalism platform. She was most recently the editorial director of POLITICO’s live journalism and before that, was a longtime political reporter for the Washington Post’s National staff. During her 25-year tenure, she profiled national leaders; covered politics, policy and business; and wrote a daily column.

The OWA Champagne Breakfast event will also honor Pleiades honoree, Maureen Cavanagh, president of the Vision Impact Institute, currently supported by Essilor, and its Pyxis honoree, Amy Speizio, executive editor of Eyecare Business, as reported in VMail.
