PORTLAND, Ore.—Professional Eye Care Associates of America (PECAA) held an open house Tuesday, June 23, 2015, to welcome its members, vendors, staff and other industry partners to the independent optometrist alliance’s new offices here. Located about a mile from PECAA’s former 1,900-square-foot offices, the company’s new 4,500-square-foot facility provides “improved working space for current employees and expansion opportunities for future employees,” Chris Millet told VMail during an exclusive tour of the new offices.

The new offices include a state-of-the-art conference room with video conferencing capabilities and other amenities such as a drop screen and white board, executive offices including one for a human resources manager to be hired soon, and pods for staff members of different departments such as the separate marketing and digital marketing teams. “We love the closeness of the teams, so we created pods for them to keep the community but provide privacy,” said Millet.

Currently employing 23 staff members to support the organization’s nearly 900 members (with 1,900 doctors operating out of 1,200 doors), PECAA offers both member benefits as well as fee-for-service options. For example, the digital marketing team has built about 200 websites and 125 social media accounts for its members, and PECAA also recently expanded its billing outsourcing services for members who would rather not deal with managing their own billing and coding, in addition to a wide range of other group buying, educational and practice management services.
