ANAHEIM, Calif.—Registration and housing for the American Academy of Optometry’s (AAO) Academy 2016 Anaheim—which takes place from Nov. 9 to 12 at the Anaheim Convention Center—is now open.

This year’s meeting will feature, among other events, renowned author Malcom Gladwell, presenting the Plenary Session, “Today’s Research Tomorrow’s Practice: Current State of Health Care and Research.” Gladwell’s presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with members of senior management from Alcon, Allergan, and Essilor.

AAO and the American Academy of Ophthalmology will also team up for an event titled “Keratitis in Contact Lens Wear,” which will explore the correlation between contact lenses and their potential to cause significant corneal morbidity.

The AAO also announced its Annual Press Conference will take place on Nov. 9 from 8 to 10:30 a.m., during Academy 2016 Anaheim.

A private breakfast for the press and Academy leaders will be followed by presentations of special research topics from each section of the Academy in addition to the new technology and information from the exhibitions. The press conference is an opportunity to meet presenters, leaders, and industry representatives.
