Latest News Sacramento Kings Announce Legacy Partnership With VSP Global By Staff Friday, January 22, 2016 12:21 AM SACRAMENTO, Calif.—The NBA’s Sacramento Kings announced a Legacy Partnership with VSP Global. As technology-driven enterprises, both VSP Global and the Kings are dedicated to developing and incorporating next-generation technologies to enhance and change how people interact with their data whether through sport or health, an announcement said.Legacy Partnerships represent at least 10-year, strategic business relationships with a shared commitment to the community, further reflecting Kings’ owner and chairman Vivek Ranadive’s “NBA 3.0” philosophy, which calls for using basketball as a positive agent of change in the community, it added, noting that the partnership “demonstrates a shared commitment by VSP Global and the Kings to transform Sacramento into a hub for technology and incubator for innovation.”As well as its VSPOne lab in Sacramento and its VSP headquarters, the joint announcement cited VSP Global’s establishment of The Shop in Midtown Sacramento, an innovation lab that launched the first wearable tech prototype from a health care company to integrate health-tracking technology into a pair of optical frames. This fall, the Kings will open Golden 1 Center one of the world’s fastest, and most connected indoor sports and entertainment venue. Our eyes are set on Sacramento.” A VSP spokesperson told VMail that VSP Global is exploring opening a location near the Golden 1 Center which would be timed to the opening of the new arena in the fall, adding that the exact mix of product and services to be included has not yet been defined.This partnership builds on existing efforts to give back, including an annual Eyes of Hope eyewear donation drive and VSP Mobile Eyes outreach events to provide no-cost eye exams and glasses.
