Latest News Silmo 2014 Attendance Shows Stable Numbers and Positive Energy By Staff Friday, October 3, 2014 12:15 AM PARIS—The 2014 international optics and eyewear trade fair, Silmo, held here from Sept. 26 to 29 at the Paris Nord Villepinte exposition center, has announced its attendance figures. According to show organizers, 33,301 professionals—56 percent from abroad and 44 percent from within France—attended an “undoubtedly positive” show with strong business volume, maintaining stable attendance despite an Air France pilot strike and international geopolitical tensions in the area. The international gathering was characterized by a high number of new brand launches and company debuts, with more than 150 of the 900 exhibitors new to the show, organizers said. The 2014 show, organizers said, offered an opportunity to appreciate creative energy displayed by exhibitors, with Silmo Paris acting as an “international springboard to unveil innovative products and attractive collections,” and the two-day Silmo Academy allowing participants to debate and exchange views on eye strain and other health and training topics. Next year's Silmo is scheduled for Sept. 25 to 28, 2015 at the Paris Villepinte Exhibition Centre. To view the 2014 Silmo d’Or winners, go to the previous report in VMail.
