PARIS—Silmo 2015 is scheduled to take place from Sept. 25 to 28 at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center. In 2014, Silmo saw 33,301 total visitors, 14,819 from France, 10,142 from the European Union and 8,340 visitors from other countries, who visited 950 exhibitors. Overall, there were 55 percent international attendees from a total 40 countries and, according to organizers, 70 percent of visitors were decision-makers.

Organized around four themes, this year Silmo has rebranded itself as “the world’s largest flagship store dedicated to vision,” organizers said. The four themes include; Silmo Fashion, which showcases the latest collections from eyewear manufacturers and trends forums; Silmo Health, which brings together lenses, low vision solutions and contact lenses; Silmo Innovation, with a spotlight on the Fab Lab highlighting the latest technological innovations and specialists in optical equipment and POS furniture; and Silmo Training, housing the Silmo Academy’s symposium and technical workshops.

Since the shopping bag is the iconic image of a flagship store, Silmo Paris has adopted this theme as the emblem of its new look; a bag visual embellished with a splash of vivid yellow for a powerful visual and aesthetic impact. Silmo’s branding—logo and brand persona—have also been revamped. Its visual identity has a more streamlined look, adding a touch of chic sophistication, organizers said.

One thing that has not changed this year is the Silmo D’Or International Innovation and Creation Grand Prix, a unique prize recognized throughout the optical and eyewear world that awards products that represent the best innovations in terms of creation, technology and innovation. Designer Emmanuel Gallina will preside over the jury of the 22nd edition of the prizes which will be awarded tonight in Paris. The nominees for the 2015 Silmo d'Or Grand Prix are:
