Latest News Tangible Science Extends Partnership With SynergEyes and Moves into Disposable Contacts By Staff Monday, January 29, 2018 12:21 AM MENLO PARK, Calif.—Tangible Science, a Silicon Valley company that develops products to make contact lenses more comfortable, is extending its partnership with SynergEyes Inc., a leader in hybrid contact lens technology that is based in Carlsbad, Calif. Under the new partnership expansion, SynergEyes will be the first to make available to ECPs a new daily disposable hydrogel contact lens developed by Tangible Science, according to an announcement late last week. In late 2017, SynergEyes reached a licensing agreement with Tangible Science that enabled SynergEyes to offer Tangible Hydra-PEG polymer coating on lenses it distributes to eyecare practices and patients. The material used in the new daily disposable lenses is a reformulation of this polymer, a spokeswoman told VMAIL. SynergEyes is an optometrist-led contact lens company focused exclusively on leading independent eyecare professionals and provides products to more than 10,000 ECPs globally. The new line of disposable lenses is FDA-approved and leverages the Tangible Hydra-PEG coating, which has “improved comfort for custom contact lenses,” the announcement noted. “We are pro-doctor and pro-doctor/patient relationship,” Tangible Science chief executive officer Vic McCray, MD, said in the statement. “It has always been our goal to offer our technology across all types of contact lenses and we are happy to be able to provide doctors with a comfortable and cost-effective daily disposable lens they can offer their patients.” McCray said Tangible Science is pleased with its partnership with SynergEyes, which, he said, has demonstrated “a commitment to supporting doctors and patients. They are a trusted partner in the custom lens market, where together, we have made a real difference in patients’ lives. This partnership into the disposable lens category is the next logical step in our relationship.” Tangible Science has developed a group of products, including a contact lens coating, cleaner, coating “rejuvenator” and a line of disposable lenses.
