The board’s new officers are president Bryan Wolynski, OD, FAAO, of New York; and treasurer/secretary Michael A. Santarlas, OD, of California. The Optometric Society will hold its 2015 Annual Optometric CE Meeting April 24 to 26 at the Dallas-Fort Worth Marriott South, where it will offer 14 hours of COPE-approved continuing education. In a statement announcing the new board and meeting dates, the organization also highlighted the following among its accomplishments since it was founded one year ago— appearing before several state boards of optometry and medical boards to address issues of online refractions, licensure by endorsement, and expansion of approved CE for optometric re-licensure; conducting regular surveys to ensure that the board maintains the concerns of the membership uppermost in their board responsibilities; and representing members at several optometric meetings, including SECO, ARBO and C&E Vision educational meetings. In addition, TOS is currently conducting a student Instagram contest and is working on several white papers representing areas of interest and concern to the consumer and the vision care profession, the statement said.
