FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J.—The Power Practice has recently launched The Power Hour, optometry’s first free weekly online radio talk show. The Power Hour can be heard via Skype or phone every Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Hosted by Gary Gerber, OD, founder of The Power Practice, the practice management company, The Power Hour is a live discussion vehicle for current practice-building events in optometry, political viewpoints and clinical topics. The show will also welcome guests, both in and out of the optometric profession. Said Gerber, “As the host of The Power Hour, I promise to deliver an entertaining, enlightening, topical and easy-to-listen to discourse on all things optometry—and most likely, a few things not so optometry! Because this is a talk radio show, we’ll encourage open and freewheeling discussion. People can listen or choose to actively join in and share stories of their own.”

The topic for tonight’s show is, “Are vision care plans taking over your practice?” Other planned topics include, “Are eyeglasses still profitable?,” “Why is there so much emphasis on medical billing?,” “Are there too many ODs or not enough patients?” More info about The Power Hour and tuning in is posted at www.PowerHour.info.

Gerber was recently recognized as an Influencer among the 2012 Optometric Business Innovators, a joint initiative of Review of Optometric Business and Vision Monday. The Power Practice is a practice management company that specializes in making optometrists more profitable and its services include on-site consultations, phone consultations, seminars, a monthly newsletter, chart audits, marketing tune-ups and personality assessments.
