OAKLAND, N.J.—Topcon Medical Systems announced that Gregory Hoffmeyer has joined its sales team, serving as director of OCT clinical sales. Hoffmeyer will be responsible for managing OCT clinical sales and will report to Corey Nielson, vice president of sales. Most recently, Hoffmeyer worked as the senior clinical relations/post-approval studies manager for Carl Zeiss Meditec where he promoted, educated and sold imaging solutions to prominent eyecare institutions. He also spent nine years working for Duke University department of ophthalmology, directing their ophthalmic imaging department and serving as senior technical analyst at the Reading Center at Duke.

Hoffmeyer has a background in ophthalmic photography, starting at the Retina Institute of St. Louis, Mo., and has over 11 years of marketing and product development experience.

Nielson said that Hoffmeyer’s “in-depth knowledge of the market as well as his education-centric approach to product development and training will be a tremendous support for our distribution network.”
