KINGWOOD, Texas—Vision Source announced that it has partnered with the Aledade Delaware ACO (Accountable Care Organization) to provide eye health and vision services to their patients in Delaware. Aledade and Vision Source share similar goals with Aledade aligned on serving a group of primary care providers in the same fashion in which Vision Source serves optometrists, the company said.

According to Farzad Mostashari, the CEO of Aledade, smaller physician-owned practices offer more personalization for patients. “This is accomplished through lowered average costs per patient, fewer preventable hospital admissions, and lower readmission rates than larger independent and hospital-owned practices. Physician-owned practices are in the best position to succeed and are the key to quality health care. Vision Source is similarly focused on high value care by establishing strategic relationships with health systems, payers and ACOs such as Aledade,” the company said.

“Vision Source is proud to work with Aledade to enhance the detection and management of health issues through cost-effective quality vision care,” said Jim Greenwood, president and CEO of Vision Source. “This integrated relationship allows both organizations to leverage our strong networks of primary care clinicians and optometrists to deliver improved outcomes for patient care.”

Through this partnership with the Aledade Delaware ACO, Vision Source seeks to provide greater access to enhanced vision care services for over 40,000 Delawareans. Currently, the Aledade Delaware ACO includes 20 primary care practices throughout the state.
