VisionWeb Appoints Masoud Nafey, OD, FAAO as Chief Medical Officer

AUSTIN, Texas—VisionWeb has appointed Masoud Nafey, OD, FAAO as chief medical officer. Dr. Nafey will focus on business strategy and product development of VisionWeb’s practice management and EHR software, Uprise. Dr. Nafey has spent the last four years of his career with VSP Global, first as a consultant for what has now become the VSP Retail line of business and then as executive VP of professional relations for Eyefinity, VSP’s practice management software line of business. Dr. Nafey is an optometrist who had over a decade of small business experience before earning his doctorate of optometry and practicing in multiple platforms, from corporate optometry to private practice, and has worked alongside his peers as a business management consultant.

He earned his undergraduate degree at UC Davis, his Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry, and is currently working on his MBA on Healthcare Administration at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

As chief medical officer at VisionWeb, Dr. Nafey will provide clinical and medical expertise and guidance, engaging with ODs, and educating clients, the company said. His focus is to help colleagues with their practices, business management, and patient workflow. In addition, his expertise will allow VisionWeb to better understand what doctors and their staff look for in practice management platforms. He has written numerous manuals and blogs regarding efficient patient care for optometrists and their office staff and provides CE lectures on MIPS and government regulations in optometry for the profession.
