VM Summit to Examine Co-Working Trend as Part of ‘workSMART’ Program

Rachel Puri and Vicrum Puri
NEW YORK—Like many young professionals, doctors and other medical workers want to work in offices that offer comfort, convenience and flexible scheduling and leasing arrangements. They are among the latest groups to embrace co-working, a growing trend that has reshaped the commercial real estate market, and they are a prime example of how some of today’s most successful entrepreneurs and businesses are working smarter. The founders of WellnessWorks, a New York-based startup that is bringing the idea of co-working to health and wellness practitioners, are joining the lineup of speakers at the Vision Monday Global Leadership Summit, the theme of which is “workSMART.”

WellnessWorks co-founder, Vicrum Puri, brings over a decade of entrepreneurial experience with businesses in general contracting and coworking. He is the founder of Seed Homes, a residential home building company focusing on green building. Puri is also co-founder of BrooklynWorks at 159, a 25,000 square foot co-working space operating in Brooklyn, N.Y.

His partner and wife, Rachel Puri, has over 10 years of experience working in health care both in the fields of mental health and as a registered nurse, specializing in telemetry at St Francis Hospital, The Heart Center and Mount Sinai West Hospital. In addition to her work with in-patient and out-patient health facilities, Puri also studies how alternative medicine can be integrated with Western-style treatment modalities.

The rapid rise of telehealth and its growing impact on vision care will be the focus of a special Summit session at the Vision Monday Global Leadership Summit, “Tackling Disruption: The Telehealth Frontier.” The session, which will feature telehealth experts, leading providers, eyecare professionals and optical retailers, will help Summit attendees increase their understanding of telehealth and examine the decision making process surrounding it. It will also illustrate how health care and business leaders are grappling with a complex and challenging trend that is reshaping relationships between doctors and patients and fundamentally changing the delivery of health care services and diagnoses.
