NEW YORK—Vuarnet announced that Chad Smith has been appointed to the position of Rx sales development director. Smith is joining the American team to bring Vuarnet’s latest mineral glass prescription technology to the U.S. premium optical market as well as to expand Vuarnet’s Rx business in North and Latin America, the company said.

During his 28-year career, Smith has worked with major brands in eyewear and was most recently the executive trainer at Maui Jim.

Vuarnet was founded in 1957 out of a collaboration between Olympic ski champion Jean Vuarnet and optician Rodger Pouilloux. The brand was relaunched in the U.S. market in 2015.
