MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.—Walman is expanding its Walman Instruments division through the acquisition of Eye Care Alliance (ECA), an Apex, N.C. company that specializes in the refurbishment, repair and support of advanced technology instrumentation such as OCTs (Optical Coherence Tomography) and automated perimeters. The terms of the transaction were not announced.

"Eye Care Alliance was successful because we offered customers a choice and kept them first while we cared for the well-being of our employees; that is why Walman is a perfect match as this describes their philosophy for over 100 years," said Bob Padula, founder and owner of ECA. Padula will join Walman as the national sales and operations manager for ECA products and work directly with Jon Dymit, vice president and general manager of Walman Instruments.

Marty Bassett, president and CEO of Walman, added “Our shared customer-first approach along with exclusive financing, trial programs and in-office training and education ensures the success of every Walman Instruments customer. Both Walman Instruments and ECA are known for the best warranties and customer service in their respective specialties so this partnership is an excellent fit on all levels.”

ECA will operate out of its existing 7,500 square foot facility in Apex, N.C., as a branch of Walman Instruments.
