DALLAS—To celebrate World Sight Day this month, Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) announced that Walman, an EVF corporate partner, is sponsoring its Kids With a Visionprogram. For every pair of digitally surfaced lenses treated with non-glare treatment produced by Walman Optical labs purchased by participating eyecare professionals through Dec. 31, 2020, Walman Optical will donate $5.00 to EVF. (Outsourced and previously discounted products are excluded.) “Corporate partners play an instrumental role in helping build awareness and educating consumers about the cause of vision,” explained Becky Palm, EVF president and executive director.

“Through these relationships, we are able to reach new audiences and bring life-changing vision care to underserved communities around the country.”

Walman has been an EVF partner since 2008. Walman CEO Marty Bassett serves on the foundation’s board of directors, the company is a sponsor of EVF’s annual golf tournament, and Walman donates a portion of the sales from participating practices to EVF through their Kids With a Vision program.

“Our mission for the company is enriching lives through better vision,” Bassett said. “People know the importance of philanthropy to our organization and what it means to us. They also know the value of partnerships and how we can make our charitable outreach even more impactful by working with organizations like Essilor Vision Foundation.”

He added, “One thing we thought was important about this program was the opportunity to give our customers a chance to engage in a more meaningful way in philanthropy and giving back to their communities.”
