MASON, Ohio—Mark Weikel has been named president and CEO of Luxottica Retail Optical North America, a major division of Luxottica Group (NYSE: LUX).

The elevation of Weikel to that role, as well as other executive changes among the leaders of Luxottica’s retail divisions, happened earlier this year, VMail has learned.

Weikel has been formerly president and general manager of LensCrafters. He joined Luxottica in 2010 as general manager of Sunglass Hut North America. Prior to joining the company, Weikel served as chief operating officer of Lord & Taylor department stores and chief operating officer of Victoria’s Secret stores.

In addition, the leaders of Luxottica Retail North America’s brands are now: Srini Kumar, senior vice president and general manager – Pearle Vision; Mary Anne Stangby, senior vice president and general manager – Sears Optical; Marcello Favagrossa, senior vice president and general manager- Target Optical, and Eric Anderson, senior vice president and general manager – LensCrafters.

Many are long-time Luxottica executives who have served in a variety of roles with the company. Kumar joined Pearle in January 2012, as VMail reported.

These senior optical general managers report to Weikel, a Luxottica spokesperson confirmed to VMail.
