Wichita Optometry Expands Services With the Purchase of Two Practices

By

WICHITA, Kan.—Wichita Optometry, PA, a full-service optometry practice based here, said Monday it has expanded its service area with the purchase of two additional optometry practices: Mulvane Vision Care and Wichita Vision Care. The new locations bring to four the number of offices providing professional eyecare services under the Wichita Optometry name. The terms of the transactions were not disclosed. Mulvane Vision Care is located in Mulvane, Kan., Wichita Vision Care is located in Wichita. The expansion includes the addition of Dr. Kevin Cline and Dr. Amy Krier Goertz to the Wichita Optometry team, according to the announcement.

They join the existing staff of Chad Fleming, OD, Ashley Blasi, OD, Drew Heide, OD, Melia Nguyen, OD, and Jeff Yarrow, OD, as independent primary health care providers at Wichita Optometry.

“For over 29 years, I have cared for my patients in Wichita and Mulvane,” Cline, OD, FCOVD, said in the announcement. “I want to thank those patients for the loyalty and trust they placed in my services and the services of my staff. I have decided to sell my practice and entrust my patients’ overall vision care to Wichita Optometry, but my staff and I will remain working with the practice to continue providing the same great care they have come to expect.”

The vision services provided by the additional practices will complement the family eyecare and optical products delivered by Wichita Optometry. The doctors treat a wide range of eye diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, pink eye (conjunctivitis), astigmatism, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eyes, red eyes and amblyopia, according to the announcement.

Wichita Optometry has a long history of providing personalized eyecare in the West Wichita area that goes back to its founding at Dougal and Seneca by Dr. Byron Babb in 1920, the announcement noted.

“We welcome these new additions to our team, and look forward to working with them to provide eyecare to the residents of Wichita and the surrounding communities,” said Jeffrey H. Yarrow, OD, who joined the practice in 1993. “Dr. Cline and Dr. Goertz mesh perfectly with our core values of quality care and service, integrity and excellence.”
