Bausch + Lomb Appoints Rosenblatt, OD to Professional Strategy, U.S. Vision Care Business
BRIDGEWATER, N.J.—Bausch + Lomb has appointed Brian Rosenblatt, OD as director, professional strategy for its U.S. Vision Care business.

Rosenblatt will be responsible for improving B+L’s professional outreach program through its teams of U.S. contact lens experts, maximizing communication and support through professional educational events and continuing to forge relationships with key optometric industry members. He will join Jill Saxon, OD and Todd Love, directors of professional strategy in coordinating the company’s eyecare professional outreach efforts across vision care.

“Dr. Rosenblatt brings a wealth of clinical and educational experience to B+ L, which will be a valuable asset to our Professional Strategy team as well as for the entire U.S. Vision Care division,” said Guy Guglielmino, head of marketing, Vision Care, Bausch + Lomb. “The depth of knowledge and expertise Dr. Rosenblatt brings from private practice and involvement in the industry will help us to bring forth programs that meet the needs of ECPs.

Prior to joining B + L, Rosenblatt was the president and co-owner of Rosenblatt Family Eye Care Associates, in Raritan, N.J., where he worked in private practice for 23 years, with expertise in contact lenses, treatment and management of ocular diseases, and ophthalmic manifestations of systemic diseases.

He’s a member of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians, the American Optometric Association and serves as a medical director for Sidewalk University’s Gift of Sight project. Rosenblatt has served as the principal investigator in various ophthalmic studies and a proctor for the National Board of Optometry.


Luneau TechnologY Chief Abitbol to Replace Cevasco as Head of Briot and Visionix
CUMMING, Ga.—Briot and Visionix, brands of Luneau Technology announced that Matt Cevasco, who had served as president and general manager since September, 2010, is transitioning to the role of consultant on special projects for the company.

Marc Abitbol, PhD, president and global CEO of the Luneau Technology Group will be assuming the responsibilities of president and general manager for the U.S. and Canada, effective immediately. He will split his time between the U.S., Israel and France, where Luneau is based.

Commenting on the transition, Dr. Abitbol said, “We are delighted to continue our relationship with Matt. His industry knowledge and years of experience and leadership within our organization will be key elements in his new role as a consulting partner on several strategic projects within the Luneau Technology Group.”


Morgenthal Frederics’ Press Admitted to CFDA
NEW YORK—Morgenthal Frederics’ designer Jeff Press has been named among the 40 new designers to be admitted to the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

Press joined Morgenthal Frederics in 1998 and apprenticed under founder Richard Morgenthal for nearly a decade, ascending from the sales floor to his current role as designer in 2006. Press has grown the Morgenthal Frederics brand, which was acquired by Luxury Optical Holdings (LOH) in 2006, into an internationally recognized fashion symbol of New York, the company said.

Additionally, Press’ role as creative director of Morgenthal Frederics retail keeps the direction of the boutiques clear, as well as all of the LOH stores focused on featuring exclusive hand-crafted pieces and building on the classic styling that continues to elevate the brand as a New York style institution, a company statement said.

In 2014, VM reported that the CFDA had announced the formation of a new working group within the Council, the Eyewear Designers of the CFDA, of which Press will now join the existing 12 members.


Ferrigno Named Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for SynergEyes
CARLSBAD, Calif.—SynergEyes Inc. appointed Bob Ferrigno as senior vice president of global sales and marketing which became effective on July 20, 2015.

In this newly created role which operates out of the SynergEyes headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif., Ferrigno will be responsible for sales, marketing, professional relations and the international group. Dave Fancher, who was previously the vice president of sales, will now be the vice president of corporate development.

“The addition of Bob to our team and Dave’s move to corporate development enables SynergEyes to continue its strategy to become the global leader in specialty contact lenses,” said James K. Kirchner, OD, president and CEO.

Before joining SynergEyes, Ferrigno most recently served as the president of North America for CooperVision. Prior to CooperVision, he was with Becton Dickinson (BD), a global medical technology company, for 32 years. During his career at BD, he held positions including vice president of global expansion, vice president of global strategic marketing and vice president of research and development.


Superior Vision Names Stout East Coast Regional Sales Manager
LINTHICUM, Md.—Superior Vision has added Michael Stout as regional sales manager responsible for the East Coast region consisting of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., assisting companies, brokers and consultants with selecting Superior Vision commercial vision plans. He is based out of the managed vision care company’s corporate headquarters here.

Stout brings more than 15 years of experience in health insurance, market share development and business retention to Superior Vision. He most recently served as a health and benefits account executive for Paychex where he was responsible for cross-selling medical, dental, vision and disability products to existing clients.

Visibility Management Appoints Monaco to Its Consulting Team as Senior Partner
CLEARWATER, Fla.—Visibility Management has appointed optical industry veteran Michael Monaco to its consulting team as a senior partner. He brings 26 years of experience as a managed care business development executive with a background in government programs within the optical industry.

Prior to joining Visibility Management, Monaco was responsible for the development and strategic direction of Essilor of America’s government programs division involving Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, the Department of Veterans Administration and the Department of Defense. In addition, he has managed care experience within hospital, pharmaceutical, clinical laboratory and disease management.
