The students in VM’s “Best in Class 2012” Special Report have been selected by their respective schools for this feature. They all have excellent academic achievement and have received awards and scholarships, but they have also distinguished themselves by doing research projects, going on volunteer missions and participating in professional organizations.

For some of these recent grads, they had been exposed to the optical industry early on, or were given encouragement by people in the field. For others, opticianry represents a new career. Some of this year’s graduates came to opticianry via optometry, publishing—even roofing. However they came into the profession, all the new opticians wanted to be in the health care industry and found opticianry to be the right fit for them.

Vision Monday is proud to present this new group of promising graduates in this special section, underwritten by an unrestricted grant from Essilor USA.
