ATLANTA—SECO International celebrated its 90th anniversary here Feb. 27 to March 3, attracting well over 7,000 eyecare professionals to some 240 CE courses, more than 100 world-renowned speakers, nearly 300 exhibitors and over 50 social and affiliate events.

Highlighting the event was SECO’s ongoing collaboration with the U.K.’s Association of Optometrists (AOP) and their joint announcement to collaborate on an event in London, Oct. 6 to 8, 2013.

Taking over as president, Darby Chiasson, OD, of Cut Off, La., told Vision Monday his three primary goals for 2013 are: 1) to encourage the success of “London 2013 Education Destination,” 2) to determine the effectiveness of SECO’s educational programs through pre-CE testing and post-CE surveys, and 3) to institute more practice management education. For SECO 2014, Chiasson also hinted at “big changes planned for our social events and exhibits as well.”
