LOS ANGELES—REM Eyewear has announced the launch of a new accessories division spearheaded by Christopher Allen, an industry professional with extensive experience in the sunglass industry.

As director of sunwear and accessories for the new division, Allen will lead the building of a diversified sales channel for REM Eyewear outside of the optical arena and nurture the company’s already established relationships with national department stores and e-tailers. For brands such as Converse, Lucky Brand and John Varvatos, Allen will craft specialty retail programs to capture key account business, instigate co-op programs and pursue private label efforts for exclusivity options.

In his new position, Allen will be working with Kara Meyer, VP corporate accounts, and he will report directly to Steve Horowitz, president of REM.
