Luxottica Wholesale N.A. Names VP of Marketing and VP, Oakley Optical Channel

NEW YORK—Luxottica Wholesale North America has announced two recent executive appointments; Laurent Boury, vice president of marketing, and Hilary Hartley, vice president optical channel, Oakley. According to the company, both positions are “crucial leadership roles that will allow Luxottica to further strengthen its position as a truly consumer oriented, premium eyewear company.”

Boury, the new vice president of marketing for Luxottica’s N.A. Wholesale division, will report to Holly Rush, president of Luxottica Wholesale N.A., and will be responsible for overseeing the successful development of Luxottica’s brand portfolio across channels. He will also be instrumental in Luxottica’s aim to help transform the eyewear experience both online and in store, the company said.

Previously, Boury had a 14-year career at Unilever in global, regional and local marketing roles. Most recently he served as a global vice president of the Dove franchise driving strategy, innovation and communications.

Additionally, Hilary Hartley has been named vice president of Oakley optical channel, a newly created role, reporting to Holly Rush. Hartley, is a long standing Oakley leader with nine years of experience in sales and general management roles. Most recently he held the position of managing director, Oakley Canada, for both the wholesale and retail channels. He will have full responsibility for the brand and be charged with fully developing Oakley across the optical and department store channels.


Adam Levy
Levy Joins Refac Optical Group as CEO and President

GLENDORA, N.J.—Refac Optical Group announced that Adam Levy has joined the company as CEO and president of Refac Optical Group.

A spokesperson said the position became effective Sept. 8. Refac’s main operating company, consisting of U.S. Vision, Inc. and Nationwide Vision, is the seventh largest retail optical group in the U.S., as reported by Vision Monday in its latest ranking of the Top Optical Retailers in the U.S.

Levy has had an extensive career in retail with positions in several top companies, including Liz Claiborne, Inc., Jones Apparel Group and Tommy Hilfiger. He most recently served as president of retail for Tumi Holdings, Inc. In its statement, Refac noted, “[Adam’s] reputation as a hands-on leader and involvement at all levels of the company make him a strong fit for Refac’s culture. His experience and expertise in retail operations will be an asset to the company.”

Al Bernstein, president of Nationwide Vision, will report to Levy, a spokesperson confirmed. Refac Optical Group was acquired by ACON Investments, a Washington D.C.-based private equity investment firm, in March, 2011. ACON Investments manages private equity funds and special purpose partnerships that make investments in the U.S., and Latin America. In 2013, the company acquired Nationwide Vision, the largest optical retail chain in Arizona.


Christina Jones
Jones Named National Sales Manager for PFO Global

IRVING, Texas—Prescription lens, finished eyewear and vision technology provider, PFO Global, Inc., (OTCBB: ENRG) announced that it has named 26-year industry sales veteran Christina Jones as its national sales manager. The announcement was made at its recently hosted national sales meeting held at its corporate headquarters here. Prior to moving to this newly created position, Jones was a sales consultant with PFO Global.

Jones will lead the PFO Global sales team nationwide, and will be responsible for meeting with key account holders and suppliers to assure customer satisfaction, quality assurance, product offering and price guarantees.
