Marco Expands Its Management Team

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Marco announced new roles for several key executives and added several other executives to its management team.

David Marco, who had previously held the positions of CEO and president, has relinquished the latter position. David Gurvis, formerly executive vice president, has been named president. Robert Kalapp, formerly director of corporate accounts, has been appointed vice president/corporate accounts.

Jeff Perrye has joined Marco as chief operating officer. He comes to Marco with over 30 years’ experience in finance and operations management, including 11 years as a member of the Marco team (1986-1997). Most recently, Perrye served as vice president of finance at Advantus Corp.

Jocelyn Schepsis is joining Marco as vice president of sales, a newly created position responsible for the productivity and effectiveness of Marco’s overall sales organization. Schepsis brings nearly 17 years in the ophthalmic/optometric marketplace. Her previous tenure at Marco spanned from 1998 to 2011. She has spent the last four years at Optos.

Irwin Kronenberg has been named director of institutional sales and professional services, a newly created position. He will be responsible for government, Veterans Administration, residencies, schools and other institutions currently served by Marco. Kronenberg has 35 years of experience in the ophthalmic/optometric marketplace. For the last 14 years he served as vice president of sales and marketing at Haag-Streit/Reliance Medical Products.

G. Timothy Petito, OD, FAAO has joined Marco as manager of professional relations to further develop relationships with current key opinion leaders in the industry, as well as being involved in technological exploration and clinical support

functions. Petito has spent the last 20 years in private practice in St. Petersburg, Fla. He has contributed to the advancement of optometry with over 25 professional publications.

The Vision Council Names Daley as NEW CEO

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—R. Michael (Mike) Daley has been named as the chief executive officer of The Vision Council, effective Oct. 1, 2014, following the previously announced retirement of Ed Greene, who has led the organization for the past eight years.

Longtime optical industry veteran, Mike Daley began his optical career as an instructor with Ferris State University in 1975. After 34 years with Essilor, he retired in 2008 as the president and COO of the organization’s Lens Division. To advance the optical community, Daley serves as a board member or in a leadership position for a number of optical organizations including Optometry Cares – the American Optometric Association Foundation, Prevent Blindness America, The Illinois College of Optometry Board of Trustees, and past chairman of The Vision Council. In his current position, Daley serves as The Vision Council’s Optical Laboratory Division Liaison, formerly the Optical Laboratories Association (OLA).

Under Greene’s leadership The Vision Council has seen an unprecedented increase in membership, growing from almost 250 member companies to more than 750. He has overseen a complete rebranding of the organization, formerly known as the Vision Council of America (VCA).


Timothy (Timm) Parker

Parker Joins Eyeking as EVP Product, Design & Marketing

PLAINVIEW, N.Y.— Eyeking LLC has announced that Timothy (Timm) Parker has been named executive vice president of product, design and marketing, effective September 2014. Parker brings to his new role at Eyeking more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in the eyewear industry. In this newly created position, he will oversee design, product management and marketing.

“With his experience and proven industry track record we are very excited to have Timm join the executive management team at Eyeking,” said Shelly Goldman, Eyeking’s president and co-founder.

Parker previously worked for Viva International and Safilo USA in similar roles. Prior to that, Parker worked for other industry leaders both in the wholesale and retail space. He will be based at the Eyeking corporate office located on Long Island. ■
