LARGO, Fla.—Quest Vision Care Specialty Lab and Luxexcel hosted a reception for attendees of Ocuco’s Innovations Labzilla user group meeting here on May 3. It was attended by 85 people from 10 different labs, and kicked off Ocuco’s annual two-day seminar located at the Sheraton on Clearwater Beach, Fla. which offered training workshops and previews of new products.

The reception, held at the Quest Specialty Lab facility, began with an opening lecture from Guido Groet, chief commercial officer of Luxexcel. Groet presented the Luxexcel VisionPlatform, which consists of an industrial grade 3D lens printer, lens-design software, and workflow integration tools. He outlined the growth and development of the platform since its inception in 2009, highlighting the latest capabilities of the technology.

Attendees were then given a demonstration of the Luxexcel 3D lens printer which was recently installed at Quest, as well as a tour of the lab. The evening culminated with a buffet dinner.

“We were thrilled to have such an engaged and analytical group full of interest in our respective passions, said Michael Walach, Quest’s president and founder. “Their eagerness to listen and ask questions elevated the event from one of merely presenting, to one of conversing, which is the key ingredient needed in fueling innovation and perpetuating evolution.”
